Saturdays, May 1-29
10 am-2 pm EST
Instructor: John McLeod
This is an online class so you can join us from anywhere!
The purpose of this class is to expand and build on a beginners’ understanding of oil paint. There will be a focus on the use of color through a limited palette followed by how to set up, light, and paint from a still life. The class will also paint from a reference photo. In both approaches students will learn how to lay in their painting, let it dry, then re-enter and finish their work in a second pass. Each class will be broken down into an introduction and a demo, followed by plenty of time for students to work on an assignment with the instructor available for specific questions as they arise. Individual critique and feedback will be given on students’ work. It is a perfect class as a follow up to an Oil Painting 1, any foundations in oil paint class, or anyone wishing to brush up on their experience with oil painting.
Recordings of the demos will be available to students should they want to watch again or have to miss a class.
This class will be held via ZOOM meetings. To download the free ZOOM app click here.
