  • Description

Our young artist classes are designed to be fun, age appropriate, and full of meaningful art skills and knowledge. American sculptor, Louise Nevelson, is best known for making incredible sculpture assemblages from found objects, pieces of wood trim, and other items found in the trash.  She arranged these in interesting compositions and painted them a singular color to create visual unity.  Using Louise Nevelson as inspiration, students will make their own assemblages from their favorite found objects and used items.   A plastic toy, match box car, broken pieces of jewelry, buttons, bottle caps, things you might have in an old junk drawer…Come with your own loot or you can rummage through ours.  Students will learn about Nevelson, then design and make their own piece to take home.  You won’t want to miss this opportunity to turn ordinary junk into a unique work of art.

Limited to 10 students.

What to Bring:
Bring a smock or old shirt
Found objects for your sculpture (buttons, shells, small bottles, old toys, junk drawer items, bottle caps, etc.) We will also have plenty of things on hand that you can use as well.
