We are super excited to add a fine art education program for homeschooled students this coming school year! Taught by long-time art educator, Shannon Swann, the middle/high school art class focuses on teaching and developing drawing and painting skills using a variety of media. Students learn and use the elements of art, principles of design, color theory, and composition techniques to create their own works of art. There will be homework some weeks which will consist of viewing images, light reading, and sketching ideas. This year students will compete in the Audubon Acres Owl Art Contest.
How to Register and to Pay:
The program meets once per week from September 2021 through May 2022. To secure your child’s spot for this school year, pre-registration is required prior to September by paying and signing up for the month of September through this website.
For subsequent months, cost is $30 per month per child and will be due at the first class of each month. You may either pay through our website or in person at the first day of class with a credit card or check.
For parents who enroll more than one child it is $25 per month per student. To receive this discount, please register by phone: Townsend Atelier 423-266-2712.
At the time of this posting (8.4.2021) masks are required for all students, teachers, staff and visitors regardless of vaccination status.

Townsend Atelier is conveniently located in the Arts Building at 301 E. 11th Street just a few blocks from the Public Library & Miller Park. Free parking in the parking lot adjacent to our building.
A materials list will be emailed to parents in advance of the class.

Fall Break: October 12 & 13
Thanksgiving: November 23 & 24
Christmas Break: December 21, 22, 28 & 29
Spring Break: April 5 & 6
