About the instructor:bio-pic
Laura Hausler, born 1987, is an artist focusing in the Contemporary Realist movement. As a transplant to Chattanooga her studies have been ongoing since 2005. Her focuses have taken her from studio art at ETSU to Art History in Florence. Next to Nashville’s Belmont University for a program focused on Religion & the Arts, and finally returning to Florence, Italy to her most influential training at The Florence Academy of Art. The FAA is a large Atelier type Academy dedicated to Realism training in Art. Laura studied and worked in Florence from 2012-2013. Here she gained insight into the methods of drawing taught in pencil and Charcoal by studying from Life and Master drawings created by Charles Bargue. This experience is one that Laura hopes to pass on to private students so they too can developed a sense of studio time, work ethic , and drawing technique. Students will work on drawing basics moving into advanced concepts in drawing from life. Laura has a specific aesthetic that she draws from for inspiration holding a high regard for students learning to think dimensionally , draw referencing life, and creating sophisticated yet simply beautiful drawings. Students will also have the option to create a portfolio with Laura to serve students wishing to apply to Ateliers or Art Schools.
