Join us for a day of lithographic printmaking and learning how to use our printmaking press!  Pronto plate printmaking is easy, non-toxic and fun. With this versatile medium, you have the possibility to combine drawing, painting and digital arts to produce exciting prints. During this workshop, students will explore different techniques and produce several of their own prints to take home.   There will be a short break for lunch.  Bring your own lunch.

Materials to bring:
kitchen spoon
ballpoint pen
black sharpie
natural sponge
reference images (we will have extras on hand)
printmaking paper ( will be available for purchase by the sheet at Townsend Atelier during the workshop)

Materials provided:
printmaking plates
brayers
black oil-based printing ink
gum arabic
citric acid
About the instructor:
Bruno Poço is a Portuguese-South African visual artist. He grew up in Johannesburg, where he attended the National School of the Arts and the University of the Witwatersrand. There, he earned a Fine Arts degree and specialized in drawing, printmaking, and photography. He also holds a post-graduate certificate in education and taught at the College of Digital Photography in Johannesburg for ten years. His own work ranges from etchings, woodcuts, and landscape drawings to fine art photography. His most recent photography exhibition, titled “Bicycle People”, was shown in Austin, Texas earlier this year.Images:  Lithographs by Jim Dine | 1973
