In this half-day workshop, students will be introduced to the ancient art of paper cutting updated for the 21st Century.  This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in learning a new medium or incorporating some new skills into their own work.  No previous experience required; both new artists and seasoned professionals will create something beautiful.   The workshop will include a visual presentation about different types of paper cutting throughout history and lots of hands-on time.  No need to bring anything but yourself!  All materials and tools will be provided and participants will receive templates and a free e-book to take home after the workshop. The workshop will be limited to 12 students so early registration is encouraged.  Students must be 16 and older.

About the Instructor:
After a career in graphic design and marketing, Kim became a full-time artist working primarily in paper. From her studio in Monteagle, she creates multi-layered, intricate cuttings from archival papers. Her work has been exhibited in Nashville, New Orleans, Sewanee, Chattanooga, Jerusalem, and Hadera, Israel. Her workshops are popular and known for being fun, informative, and productive. Participants will find applications for papercutting design in their own stained glass, mosaics, books, and illustrative arts. Others may use papercutting to creative unique greeting cards and gifts.
