instructor:  Jesse Lane

Award-winning, visiting artist, Jesse Lane, will lead a two-day workshop teaching how to create a dramatic and highly realistic portrait in colored pencil.
Jesse will teach his signature portraiture style, including his special tips for creating nuanced skin tones, compelling eyes, and realistic hair.
Working from a photograph (provided), each student will work step-by-step on the same portrait as the instructor while he gives detailed demos and works with students one-on-one.

Each student will be provided with the image already outlined on drawing paper.  A reference photo and step-by-step workbook will also be
provided. Students are required to bring their own drawing supplies, and a materials list will be distributed well in advance of the workshop.
The end of each day will end with a question-and-answer session as everyone gets to know each other and share their love of colored pencil in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

There will be a one-hour lunch break each day.  Feel free to bring your own lunch or enjoy plenty of dining option nearby in our Southside neighborhood.  For students traveling from out of town, feel free to ask for accommodations recommendations.  We are happy to help!
